1. Jimmy Buffett comes to the Cruzan
Palm Beach resident Jimmy Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band are sure to please the legions of Parrot heads Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach. Buffett, whose Margaritaville state of mind was inspired by Key West, most likely include hits like “Margaritaville,” “Cheeseburger in Paradise”, “Fins”, “5 o’clock Somewhere”, and the new album entitled “Songs from St. Somewhere”. 2. Register for Turtle Trot Run
The Town of Jupiter is inviting all runners to join the 24th Annual Turtle Trot 5K Run. The 3.1-mile run will take place at a new location – Ocean Cay Park, Jupiter along beautiful Jupiter beach. Enjoy hot post-race pancakes provided by Firefighters to the Rescue, Annie’s Italian Ice, bagels from Brooklyn Bagels and fresh fruit from Berry Fresh Café. 3. Food Truck Fest
Saturday, April 26, 2014 check out the gourmet food truck invasion at Riverwalk Events Plaza, Jupiter between 5-10pm. Twenty epicurean food trucks will offer variety food choices. 4. Annual Sweet Corn Fiesta
The 14th annual Sweet Corn Fiesta rolls into town 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at the South Florida Fairgrounds. The event offers games, rides, live music, a corn-eating contest, shucking contests, a recipe contest, plus an old-fashioned bathing-suit competition. The event benefits agriculture education programs and Glades-area food banks. $8 per adult, $5 per child aged 6 to 11, free for children 5 and younger. 5. The Delray Affair
The Delray Affair marks its 52nd year this weekend. The free event, which draws thousands of people to the city’s downtown area and three picturesque parks along the seaside village, is nicknamed the “Greatest Show under the Sun”. The event stretches 12 blocks from the Intracoastal to Northwest Second Avenue, the grounds of Delray Beach Center for the Arts and Old School Square Park. 6. Pompano Seafood Festival: Grand Funk Railroad to perform
Classic rock and roll favorite Grand Funk Railroad (drummer, Don Brewer, lives in Jupiter) will headline this weekend’s 30th annual Pompano Beach Seafood Festival. The event features a variety of fish and shellfish cooked in about any style possible, great music, and “Boardwalk Bazaar”, which offers art and crafts. Hours are 5 to 10 p.m. today April 25, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is $15; free for children younger than 12.
