VENUS WILLIAMS to DESIGN INTERIOR of DELRAY APARTMENT BUILDINGS
Venus Williams the former number one world ranked tennis player, five-time Wimbledon titleholder, is also an interior designer. On the court, she is known for her strength, style and grace. Well-respected developed Jorge Perez, Related Group, is building 172 apartments in Delray Beach. Mr. Perez has teamed up with Ms. Williams and her V-Starr design team to design the interior of the project. The two story buildings will be located on two parcels south of Atlantic between First and Fourth.
Mr. Perez is an American real estate developer and author. He has successfully built his reputation by building multifamily apartment across Miami and then by becoming one of the “most prolific high rise condo builders across the Southern United States. He is known as the “Donald Trump of the Tropics”. He is the author of Powerhouse Principle: The Ultimate Blueprint for Real Estate Success in an Ever Changing Market. The book has a foreword written by fellow real estate developer and collaborator Donald Trump.
Venus Willams and her Jupiter-based V*Starr Interiors is designing the lobbies, two models and some of the finishes for individual units. She said her goal is to “appeal to artists, hipsters and other creative minds”. V*Starr portfolio is steadily growing with NFL and NBA players in Davie and Miami; model residences in Delray Beach and Palm Beach Gardens and much more. Recent completion at One Thousand Ocean, in Boca Raton marked success for the interior design team.
Related Group representative, Steve Patterson, said the firm’s vision for the project is “industrial chic, something that has that raw edge," similar to New York City's Meatpacking District. Completion of the project is scheduled for November 2015.
