Palm Beach County residents and visitors may observe Veterans Day on Friday, November 11, 2022. Veterans Day is a United States federal holiday that honors all military veterans who have served in the U.S. military. The holiday corresponds with Remembrance Day and Armistice Day. It marks the anniversary of the end of World War I which ended on November 11th. The hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 when the Armistice with Germany went into effect

Veterans Day celebrates the service of all US military veterans, while Memorial Day honors those who have died while in military service. Pay tribute to the veterans and their families that volunteered to protect our great country. Here are ceremonies and local Palm Beach County observances to attend, honor and salute our veterans who have served this nation with distinction.

The ceremony commences precisely at 11:00 a.m. with a wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknowns and continues inside the Memorial Amphitheater with a parade of colors by veterans’ organizations and remarks from dignitaries.

In Palm Beach, the Flagler Museum, Henry Flagler’s Whitehall estate, is a great place to spend a few hours immersed in the island’s history. On Veterans Day, November 11, 2022, veterans will receive free entry during normal general admission hours.

Attendees can also visit or climb the lighthouse. Both events are free for veterans and their families; pre-registration is required online.
