October is also referred to in America as National Breast Cancer awareness month.  It is an annual international campaign health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October worldwide to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure.

Waterfront Properties and Club Communities is making a difference in our community against cancer.  One step at a time, with a opening donation of $10,000 to Susan G. Komen, South Florida Waterfront hopes to help heighten awareness about early detection and screening, improve treatment methods or help local people have a greater chance of survival.  All of the Waterfront Properties associates and employees will be in their “pink ribbon” company logo shirts all month in honor of friends and family members who have been touched by this disease.

With no known cure for breast cancer, early diagnosis is critical to survival. Breast cancer knows no boundaries – age, gender, socio-economic status or geographic location. Raising awareness on the importance of early detection and screening has been on the forefront of the Waterfront Properties Team mission.  When breast cancer is detected early in the localized stage, the 5-year survival rate is 98%!
If you would like to become involved with making a difference, contact Rob Thomson, Managing Partner of Waterfront Properties and Club Communities  at 561-746-7272 or Susan G. Komen, South Florida.
