The first weekend in October, brought a bit of a cool front to our South Florida waters and while the Bluewater Babes Fish for a Cure tournament was scheduled many captains said, it couldn’t of been better conditions for a fishing tournament. The sun was blazing and cool breeze was at our backs!

The past weekend was amazing at the 2015 Bluewater Babes event that was at Sailfish Marina on Singer Island, Florida. Everyone who was able to participate in the community really worked hard and all the money raised goes to the local breast cancer research and its patients. Bluewater Babes continues to be overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for this tournament and with the added help, together we all made an even bigger difference.

The Bimini Start out of the Lake Worth Inlet, didn’t happen without getting soaked by water guns and water hoses. Fun water fight to start the 8 a.m. fishing tournament kickoff. Many anglers throttled off in several directions, many went north, some went east and few went to the south end. Good spreads of the boats are good especially targeting the three categories of dolphin, wahoo and kingfish.

The Winner leaderboard showcased:

-1st place in the Kingfish Division: “Tinkerbelle, with a Kingfish of 33.95 lbs!
-1st Place in the Dolphin Division: “K-GIRL” with a Dolphin of 17.71 lbs!
-1st Place in the Wahoo Division: “Reel Epic Charters” with a Wahoo of 21.60 lbs!

The Top Angler Billfish: Georgia Covin on the “Absolut Joy”
Top Boat Billfish: “Absolut Joy" with 8 Sailfish Releases
The Heaviest Meat Fish: Liz Albelo on Team “Kraken” with a 27.20 Cobia!!!
