Ballen Isles County Club
Location: 100 Ballen Isles Circle, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33418
Ballen Isles offers three championship courses that were originally designed by John D. MacArthur as home of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America, for many years it was the site of the PGA TOUR’s Qualifying School and hosted the game’s greatest players in the PGA Championship, World Cup, the PGA’s Senior Championship and numerous other golf classics. Developed by two of the most highly respected golf course architects in the world, Dick Wilson and Joe Lee, these courses have been constantly updated so that each course plays at a championship level from the back tees and is very playable for those of all skill levels from more forward tees. The clubhouse is 72,000 square feet of generous verandas complimenting a beautiful coastal Florida design.
The East Course underwent a major renovation in 2008 by world-renowned architect Keith Foster, earning it the national “Renovation of the Year” award from Golf, Inc. Magazine. This par 72 East Course spans 7,189 yards from the farthest tees and is where future PGA tour professionals qualified, including Tom Watson and Bruce Fleischer. Some of the biggest names in the golf world have played on the East Course, from Lee Trevino and Jack Nicklaus to Sam Snead and Arnold Palmer.
The North Course first opened in 1964 with nine holes, but Joe Lee built the back nine in 1969 making it a par 72 course with a length of 6,865 yards from the back tees. Renovated in 1994, lakes and natural preserves border most fairways, demanding accuracy off the tee. It underwent an additional $5 million re-design and was re-opened in December of 2013. The new design of the golf course is challenging and rewarding to all handicap levels and is against a pristine backdrop.
The South Course also opened in 1964 as a 9-hole course and was expanded to 18 holes by Lee in 1970. In 2000 the South Course was completely redesigned by Gene Bates. At 6,872 yards, this par 72 course is a favorite of the members for its challenging but fair layout that rewards strategy and accuracy. It allows the thinking golfer opportunities to level the playing field against big hitters.
Ballen Isles also offers a world class golf practice facility featuring a driving range, chipping green, putting green, and practice bunkers and the Ballen Isles golf academy.
On top of the three golf courses, BallenIsles is also the #1 ranked tennis facility in the country, has a top of the line fitness center and sports complex including sauna, steam rooms and a resort style pool, and offers a full service spa and salon.

Old Palm Golf Club
Location: 11089 Old Palm Drive, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33418
This Raymond Floyd designed course is truly a one-of-a-kind, and honors the legendary competitor with sixty-two tournament victories by preserving the love of the game. Opened in 2004, the par 72 course offers a unique “19th hole”. The island style green par 3 is only 99 yards but poses as a tough challenge and is a perfect way to either settle a wager with a playing partner or simply enjoy a challenge after your round is over. Playing at 7,400 yards from the tips, Old Palm offers six tees on every hole. The course is like a tale of two courses. The front 9 plays like a classic open Florida golf course with wide fairways, while the back holes seem more like a North Carolina course with its canopy of towering pines. Old Palm honors a traditional “no tee time” policy, offering its members the opportunity to play at their leisure.
Members of Old Palm can take advantage of private golf lessons with Head Pro Mark Hackett and special clinics with Director of Golf, Bud Taylor. Hackett is one of the Top 100 golf instructors in the country according to Golf Magazine, and his staff of PGA golf instructors offer weekly practice sessions for men, women, and couples.
Old Palm offers a 33-acre Golf Studio unlike any other in the world, which provides a practice driving area and even has three holes that replicate conditions on the main course. PGA National Resort and Spa
Location: 400 Ave of the Champions, West Palm Beach, FL 33418
Known as host of the PGA TOUR’s Honda Classic each spring, PGA National Resort is home to five of the top golf courses in Florida including The Champion, The Palmer, The Squire, The Fazio, and The Estates.
Home of the “Bear Trap” and the Honda Classic, The Champion is the toughest par 72 golf course in Florida. Originally designed by Tom and George Fazio for major tournament play, The Champion course at PGA National Resort & Spa was redesigned by Jack Nicklaus in 2014. “The Bear Trap” on PGA National Resort & Spa’s The Champion course is an intimidating trifecta of holes – 15, 16 and 17 – known as among the most demanding 3-hole stretches on the PGA TOUR. If you’re not ready for the perils of the real-life Bear Trap, an HD indoor golf simulator is available for on-demand weatherproof golf instruction.
Named after its designer, The Palmer is one of the more forgiving par 72 courses from tee to fairway, and provides a more risk/reward game. Named after the first golfer ever to win the professional Grand Slam, Gene Sarazen, The Squire is a “thinking man’s course” which requires accuracy and precision. The Haig was designed by George and Tom Fazio in tribute to five-time PGA champion Walter Hagen, and its renovation is being led by third-generation designer Tom Fazio II, who emphasized modernizing the course layout. Designed by Karl Litten, The Estates course presents an enjoyable mix of challenging and docile holes. The course sets up for any level of player as it is one of the shorter courses at PGA National Resort & Spa.
The Sports & Racquet Club offers members over 75 Aerobic classes a week, 17 Har Tru tennis courts (11 lit for night play), 14 treadmills, 12 personal trainers, 10 tennis pros , 10 ellipticals, 10 stationary bikes, 5 croquet courts, 3 aerobic studios, 2 multi-use pickle/paddle tennis ball courts, 2 functional training rooms, 1 racquet ball court, 1 Pilates studio and a Step Mill.

Seminole Golf Club
Location: 901 Seminole Blvd, Juno Beach, FL 33408
Seminole Golf Club has been ranked in the 100 greatest golf clubs in history by Golf Digest since 1966, ranked highest at #8. Located just north of Palm Beach Gardens in the town of Juno Beach, this course was cleverly routed by Donald Ross in 1929 on a rectangular site with each hole encountering a new wind direction.
Founded by E.F. Hutton, Seminole has a rich history of being a golf club for the corporate elite. The course has hosted kings and presidents including Eisenhower, Henry Ford, JFK, and the Duke of Windsor. Its prestige of members doesn’t end there. In 1947 members included Joseph P. Kennedy, Henry Ford II, Jack Chrysler, Paul Mellon, Phillip Armour, John Pillsbury and Robert Vanderbilt. Seminole’s membership has always included titans of industry, politics and golf. Henry Picard, the 1938 Masters winner, was the professional at Seminole for 26 years and Ben Hogan spent a significant amount of time here playing and practicing.
Seminole enjoys a pace of play in under 3 hours and 40 minutes, with fast, elevated greens. Golfers must calculate with great effort, for while an approach may land on some part of the green, the sever pitches will likely cause the ball to roll off. Without rough around the greens, it may head deep into the 40-foot dune ridge that runs alongside the western edge of the property.
Membership at Seminole Golf Club is extremely exclusive, with no website or information about the club available except a phone number- 561-626-0280. Jack Nicklaus was even rumored to have been denied membership.
