The Single Fin Showdown is an annual surf and skim festival held in Stuart. Last year, the Showdown attracted 150 competitors and 1,500 festival spectators. “Single Fin” means that contestants in the event ride 60's and 70's Single Fin Shortboards (provided) for the shortboard divisions and any board 9' and up for the Longboard divisions.
The Single Fin Showdown is the perfect for families and those interested in watersports like surfing and skimming. The event is meant to bring the surfing community together, and what started in 2009 with a small group of surfers riding vintage single fin surfboards for bragging rights, has evolved into one of the largest one-day, amateur surf and skim festivals in Florida.
All proceeds from this year’s event will do to benefit Brooke Thabit who suffered paralysis diving into shallow water in 2012.
