2019 Santa Slam Kids Fishing Tournament Braves Weather For A Cause
Despite a little wind and rain, the 2019 Santa Slam Kids Fishing Tournament sold out this past weekend, welcoming 77 junior anglers to fish on the Juno Beach Pier with Santa.
From Hobe Sound to Boca Raton, South Florida families drove from near and far to support this family-friendly event in order to fundraise for ChasN’Tailz Foundation, a local non-profit children's charity funding needy families with very sick children in memory of Chase Warren.
“The Santa Slam is all about teaching children about giving back and teaching them about our history by mentoring ethical angling.” Summer Warren, Director of ChaseN’Tailz and Santa Slam, told Waterfront Properties, “We think small hands giving big is our future."
Founded by Summer Warren, ChaseN’Tailz has donated over $200,000 in the last 6 years in memory of her son Chase. They organize several fundraisers throughout the year, including the ChaseN’Tailz KDW at Harbourside Place, the Santa Slam Kids Tournament at the Juno Beach Pier, and new in 2020 is the Chasen Chips Poker Tournament & the holiday boat parade viewing party. They also launched a much-needed program “Chasen Chow”, where they fund & deliver meals to all families in the Palm Beach Children's Hospital, including special meals for birthdays & holidays.
The first 50 kids received a tournament shirt, a hat, a stocking, bait to fish with, and thanks to Fish Florida, the first 50 kids also received their very own rod and reel!
