The holiday season brings new life into the family friendly community of Jupiter, Florida and for those of us with kids, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and everything in between we find ourselves looking for fun and invigorating activities to do with our youngsters. Here are 3 ideas for you to try:

"Mommy & Me Paint!"
at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center

On Thursdays at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center are “Mommy & Me Paint” classes. Just because the title says “mommy” doesn’t mean this program is only for moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends are welcomed with their little ones. The classes take place during winter season at 10:30am on Thursday mornings and each class is designed to introduce introductory knowledge of sea turtle conservation andbiology to youngsters. The “Mommy & Me Paint” classes always begin with a short ocean-themed story that includes hands-on lessons about turtle biology followed with fun and interactive painting. Participants young and old have the opportunity to take home their painted turtles and their new sea turtle knowledge.

“Mommy & Me Paint” classes are $8 for one painter and $12 for two painters. For more information please visit www.marinelife.org.

"Starfish & Coffee Story Time"
at the Loxahatchee River Center

Also taking place every Thursday morning at the Loxahatchee River Center is “Story Time.” “Story Time” at the Loxahatchee River Center is a free event that takes place at 9:30 every Thursday and the event offers coffee for the adults and juice for the kids along with an engaging story of our local history, our environment, classic children’s tales and more. The event is open to kids ages 0 to 7 years of age. “Story Time” offers the participants book readings, songs and an interaction with the touch tank animals at the Loxahatchee River Center. Reservations are not required for those who wish to join “Story Time.”

"Hatchling Tales"
at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center

For more story time fun, you won’t want to miss “Hatchling Tales” at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center each Wednesday morning at 10:30am. Free to public, “Hatchling Tales” is geared towards toddler-aged children. The program is perfect for little ones that have a love or curiosity for the ocean. The stories offered are all based on the ocean and even feature crafts to help educate and inspire the youngsters who behold the future of our oceans and local wildlife environments. “This program is designed to cater to young families in the community by offering a new story and craft each session, encouraging frequent visits and support.”
