5 Fun & Free Events Happening This Weekend
Spend time with the family and enjoy the spirit of Christmas at the free events Palm Beach County is hosting this Friday and Saturday.
1. Airing of The Polar Express
Bring your chairs and blankets to Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton and watch the holiday favorite "The Polar Express" under the evening sky. Tomorrow night doors open at 4:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 5:30 p.m. Food and drinks are available for purchase at the venue.
2. Beach Bonfire
If you already watched The Polar Express, head to the beach tomorrow night from 6 - 9 p.m. and enjoy the warmth of a bonfire. Now that the weather has cooled, Lake Worth Beach is holding bonfires twice a month across from the Lake Worth Casino Building and Beach Complex. The large fire pit is dug in the sand and you can do just about whatever you want; bring blankets or some snacks, play music and more. The fires are also scheduled for January 12th and 26th and February 9th and 23rd.
3. Free Concert
Also happening tomorrow night, the pop/rock band "The Clique" will be performing a free concert the Old School Square Pavilion in Delray Beach. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. but the concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Food and drinks are available at the venue and donations are appreciated.
4. Everglades Walk
On Saturday at 2 p.m. take "A Walk Through Time" and learn about the Everglades on a free hike at Grassy Waters Preserve in West Palm Beach. Discover the food, tools, and shelters used by local original Native American tribes and explore the open area. Space is limited so call the nature center for reservations, 561-804-4985.
5. Free Photos with Santa
The Palm Beach Outlets, also in West Palm Beach, is offering free photos with Santa in case you haven't gotten holiday pictures this season. Each family will receive two free professional photos and a digital download of an image.
