Coming in December to Abacoa is a beautiful, $70 million medical research center that will combine education; research and patient care all beneath one roof. This mega medical center is known as The Institute for Healthy Living.

The same developers that created NuVista Living at Wellington Green in Wellington, Florida will develop this new medical center. The Palm Beach Gardens based developers intend to have a medical partnership with Jupiter Medical Center and a research partnership with Scripps Research Institute. The site features four buildings that will span 235,000 square feet. Within the facility will be a 30 bed center for those with brain disorders, a 129 bed nursing home, a 70 bed assisted living center and a location to feature 60 beds for patients to be transferred from Jupiter Medical Center.

The Institute for Healthy Living is a medical and research center geared for the baby boomer generation. NuVista Living’s goal is to team up with other local medical and research all stars like Jupiter Medical Center and Scripps to get baby boomers to maintain healthier lifestyles as the age.

Not only will the center have a great impact on the health of people in Jupiter but it will have a tremendous impact on the local economy. “At full operation, about 450 more research and development jobs will be at the institute planned for 9 acres on the east side of Central Boulevard just north of Donald Ross Road,” said Dean Tendrich, the marketing director of NuVista Living.

After two years of construction, the Institute for Healthy Living is due to open this December.
