Amazon announced last week that the company will open its first Amazon Fulfillment Center in the city of Port St. Lucie in 2022. The Amazon Fulfillment Center will be over 1 million square feet. The building will be the largest in Port St. Lucie. Amazon will employ about 500 local people, offering full-time jobs with excellent benefits beginning from day one.

Amazon will operate a traditional non-sortable fulfillment center in a 1.1-million-square-foot building to be constructed on 110 acres at Midway Business Park on West Midway Road near I-95. Clearing of the site has begun, and construction is projected to be completed by late summer or early fall next year.

Employees in Amazon’s non-sortable centers pick, pack, and ship bulky or larger-sized customer items.  Larger sized items such as patio furniture, sports equipment, pet food, fishing rods, kayaks, bicycles, and heavier household items. Delivery to private homes will not be made from this Center.
