This week, anyone and everyone involved in the art world of producing, commissioning, presenting, preserving, promoting, chronicling, criticizing, and selling fine art will be in Miami. Aside from the pleasing warm weather and charming tropical landscape, South Florida is the host of Art Basel, an art show that brings the international world of art together.
December 5th through the 8th, Art Basel Miami showcases the works from over 250 leading galleries and 4000 artists from North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Significant work from the masters of modern and contemporary art will be on display in every media imaginable, including paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs, and films.
Over 70,000 visitors flock to Miami each year, offering an exciting and inspiring week for artists, collectors, curators, and critics. Aside from the actual art, Art Basel also hosts a series of conversations on topics concerning the global contemporary art scene. Conversations offers a platform for dynamic dialogues between prominent members of the international artworld, each offering their unique perspective on producing, collecting, and exhibiting art. Curators and advisors include Director of Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporaneo, Magali Arriola, and well-known private art dealer Ed Winkleman. View the 2019 Conversations program here. >
