When one of Europe’s most celebrated restaurant groups decided where to open its first American location, it could have looked to Manhattan, Miami, or Los Angeles. It looked to Juno Beach. More specifically, it looked to Caretta.

Big Mamma Group, the Paris-born collective behind Pink Mamma, Carlotta, and Gloria Osteria, will open its first U.S. restaurant on the ground floor of Caretta, the new 95-residence condominium under construction at U.S. Highway 1 and Donald Ross Road. The debut is planned for late 2026. For the people who will live at Caretta, the appeal goes beyond a coveted dinner reservation. The restaurant will be right downstairs.

A Name That Carries Weight in Europe

Big Mamma has spent more than a decade becoming one of the most recognizable names in European dining. Founded in Paris in 2013 by Victor Lugger and Tigrane Seydoux, the group has grown to roughly 35 restaurants across nine countries, with a reputation built on lavish, theatrical interiors and genuinely uncompromising Italian cooking.

The food is the foundation. Pasta and gelato are made in-house, and ingredients come directly from more than 200 family-run Italian producers, from 24-month aged Prosciutto di Parma to fresh mozzarella delivered from Napoli. In 2018, Big Mamma became the first restaurant group in Europe to earn B Corp certification, a reflection of a guiding belief the founders return to often: happy staff makes happy guests.

The official name of the Juno Beach location has not yet been announced, but the pedigree is already clear. This is a group that turns a meal into an event, and it has chosen Caretta as its American home.

Why South Florida, and Why Now

Big Mamma’s arrival says as much about the region as it does about the restaurant. Co-founder Tigrane Seydoux has relocated to South Florida with his family to oversee the opening personally, the same approach the group used when it expanded into Madrid. To ground the project locally, Big Mamma has partnered with Chicago-based Ballyhoo Hospitality and with Carmine Giardini, founder of Carmine’s Gourmet Market & La Trattoria, a Palm Beach institution with nearly four decades of history.

Palm Beach County has spent the past several years drawing chefs and operators who once would have planted their flags only in larger cities. Big Mamma choosing Juno Beach for its U.S. debut signals how far the area’s dining scene has come, and Caretta sits at the center of it.

What It Means to Live at Caretta

For residents, a restaurant of this caliber on the ground floor reshapes everyday life in a quiet but real way. Dinner becomes a short elevator ride. A weeknight bowl of pasta, a celebratory bottle of wine, a long table with friends visiting from out of town, a quick espresso before a walk to the beach. All of it sits within the same building you come home to.

That ease is the idea behind Caretta. The building offers 95 residences with generous layouts and a collection of amenities designed around comfort: a rooftop infinity pool and spa with unobstructed ocean views, a fitness center, a golf simulator and lounge, a demonstration chef’s kitchen, a resident lounge, and a dedicated dog park and dog wash. Caretta was developed by JDL, the firm behind some of Chicago’s most prominent luxury high-rises, and that experience shows in the level of finish and the thinking behind the shared spaces.

A standout restaurant downstairs fits naturally into that picture. It extends the building’s hospitality past the lobby and into one of the things people most enjoy doing: gathering around good food.

A Juno Beach Address

Part of what makes the pairing work is Juno Beach itself. Set about 20 minutes north of West Palm Beach, it has held onto a calmer, more residential character while still offering the things that make South Florida living so appealing. Residents can walk to the beach, paddle out near Juno Park, cast a line off the pier, or spend a slow morning over coffee before the day fills in.

A destination restaurant raises the profile of a town like Juno Beach while leaving intact what people love about it. The pace stays easy. The beach stays pristine. The difference is that one of Europe’s most sought-after dining experiences is now part of the neighborhood, and for Caretta residents, part of home.

The Bigger Picture

It is rare for a building’s location, lifestyle, and timing to line up the way they do at Caretta. A boutique condominium near the ocean, in a town built around an unhurried quality of life, with an internationally acclaimed restaurant opening on the ground floor. That combination is hard to find anywhere along Florida’s southeast coast.

For buyers who care about where they live as much as how they live, Caretta supports the way you actually want to live: close to the water, close to a remarkable table, and close to the easygoing rhythm that drew people to Juno Beach in the first place.

Waterfront Properties and Club Communities represents the residences at Caretta and has spent decades helping buyers find homes across Palm Beach, Martin, and St. Lucie counties.
