Breakers Golf Course Renovations Progressing

Posted by Lacey Hagler on Wednesday, October 17th, 2018 at 4:27pm.

The Ocean Course at The Breakers is a few steps closer to being completely renovated. Originally designed by Alexander Findlay in 1897, this lush Palm Beach golf course was redesigned by Brian Silva in 2000, and they’ve now enlisted renowned golf architect Rees Jones to complete its latest nip and tuck.

Renovations began this spring, and this past Friday the new greens received their first watering.

Once renovations are complete, the course will have fresh salt-tolerant turf and its previous tifEagle Bermuda greens, as well as an updated reverse-osmosis irrigation system. Further contributing to water conservation, the on-site well converts undrinkable water into 500,000 gallons of irrigation water per day.

This course for the 21st-century golfer beckons talent from near and far, testing golfers with its complex terrain. For more information, view https://www.thebreakers.com/activities/golf/courses/.
