COLORS OF THE CARIBBEAN in HOLLYWOOD
To celebrate Caribbean American Heritage Month, a free family-friendly festival will be held this Saturday of Father’s Day Weekend. The fun festival, Colors of the Caribbean, is going to be held with music and flavors of the islands in Hollywood, Florida!
“Produced for the Hollywood CRA by Aifos Agency, Caribbean American Heritage Florida and The Rhythm Foundation, Colors of the Caribbean takes place Saturday June 20th, 4pm to 11pm, at the Hollywood ArtsPark at Young Circle in downtown Hollywood.”
Plenty of activities will be happening such as live musical performances, Kids Zones, Caribbean Food Village, Arts & Crafts and smaller stages playing folk dance and cultural performances. “Live performances include Inner Circle, reggae’s top selling “bad boys,” Trinidian Soca Monarch Rikki Jai, young Antigan star Ricardo Dru, and diplomat of Caribbean music Kevin Lyttle, along with many other musical artists celebrating the island culture.
The ArtsPark at Young Circle will be full of delights with a Caribbean twist: The Food Village will be offering tasty and yet very flavorful food items such as conch salad from the Bahamas, Jamaican Style Jerk Chicken, Columbian Arepas, Trinadad options and the finger licking good BBQ Chicken from the USA! The village will also feature lots to drink, so come thirsty and enjoy some frozen Pina Coladas or an ice cold coconut.
