This April marks the 46
th anniversary of Earth Day around the world and this year could be the biggest Earth Day yet. This year, Earth Day Network is expecting to see one of the most exciting years in environmental history.

The very first Earth Day took place on April 22, 1970 where it activated over 20 million Americans from all walks of life. This year, Earth Day also falls on April 22, Friday April 22 of 2016. On the very first Earth Day, was the inauguration the biggest, modern environmental movement and now it is a celebrated day by people across the globe.

Following the great success of the initial Earth day, the Earth Day Network chose to converge with over 50,000 partners in 192 countries to “broaden, diversify and mobilize the environmental movement.” Today, there are more than a billion people that partake in Earth Day activities and fight for our global environment, making it the leading community ceremony in the world and across the world.

Earth Day Network takes great pride in “greening” schools, promoting environmental education, accelerating the global green economy, protecting the world’s canopies, greening cities, ensuring clean water and so much more.

Every year on Earth Day is the famous Global Citizen Earth Day Concert and this year it is going to be star-studded featuring some of the world’s biggest celebrities, recording artists and global leaders.
