Having a pool in Florida is almost a necessity. With constant sunshine and tropical weather throughout the year, your pool can become one of the most used parts of your home. Below we will discuss the different styles of pools and from there you can decide which type suits your needs the best.

Inground Pools:

Pros: Customizable, durable, adds resale value.

Cons: Expensive, requires routine maintenance.

Inground pools offer flexibility with three material options – fiberglass, vinyl, or concrete. Fiberglass pools have low maintenance but limited customization, while vinyl pools are cost-effective but may need liner replacement. Concrete pools, though expensive and time-consuming to install, are highly durable.

Above-Ground Pools:

Pros: Inexpensive, quick installation process.

Cons: Not aesthetically pleasing, shorter lifespan.

Above-ground pools are a budget-friendly option with easy installation. While not as visually appealing, adding a deck can enhance the aesthetics without breaking the bank.

Lap Pools:

Pros: Great for exercise, can be cost-effective.

Cons: Not family-friendly, limited functionality.

Designed for swimming laps, lap pools are ideal for exercise but may not be suitable for families due to their specialized purpose.

Architectural Pools:

Pros: Aesthetically pleasing, adds resale value.

Cons: Very expensive, lengthy planning and installation.

Architectural pools, designed by architects, are a luxury option that complements your home's design but comes with a high price tag and a meticulous planning process.

Infinity Pools:

Pros: Visually stunning.

Cons: Very expensive.

Infinity pools, often seen in resorts, create a mesmerizing illusion but are among the most expensive due to their intricate design.

Natural Pools:

Pros: Environmentally friendly, unique.

Cons: Requires a large space, expensive, long installation.

Natural pools use plants instead of chemicals for filtration, offering an eco-friendly alternative but demanding space and upfront costs.

Saltwater Pools:

Pros: Lower maintenance fees, gentle on the skin.

Cons: No structural benefits.

Converting a chlorine pool to saltwater may have lower maintenance costs and be gentler on the skin, but it does not alter the pool's structure.

With many style options to choose from, there is not one pool that stands out over the others. It strictly comes down to your preferences and what you want to wake up to everyday. The main things to consider are your budget, yard space, and how you will use the pool.
