Leftovers Café, 451 University Boulevard, Jupiter, is hosting Families Feeding Families Charity Brunch to benefit Merciful Heavens of Jupiter Enjoy great food, great company, live music, silent auction, prizes and fun on Sunday, November 3th beginning at 11:00 AM. 100% of ticket sales and proceeds will go to Merciful Heavens, Inc. of Jupiter.
Merciful Heavens, Inc. mission is to promote nutritious, economical food around the table, while enhancing the values of community by families helping other families. Founded in 2011, Incorporated as a 501c(3) Non-profit in 2015. 100% volunteer organization. 100% of donations go to programs. Patricia Bowman, founder, was taught early on by her mother that “there is always room for one more”. This learned compassion has led to the creation of this foundation.
Thanksgiving give an opportunity to fulfill the mission of providing healthy, fresh, nutritious foods to families in need furthering the bonds of family by their own home cooked meals. Families in need are given a postcard notifying them of their gift of 35 pounds of fresh food. The gift includes turkey, potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, beans, onions, apples, cranberry, broth, stuffing and a pumpkin pie to take home and prepare in their homes.
Leftovers Café owner Mike Moir is Vice President of Merciful Heavens and an active member in the community. Leftovers Cafe has had many write-ups such as #1 seafood restaurant in Palm Beach County in 2009 by the Palm Beach Post, St Louis Dispatch in 2016, Current Magazine in 2016, Southern Living “Off the Eaten Path” and recently both restaurants received “The Best Mac n Cheese award in Palm Beach County by The Hunger Diaries.
