The Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center is fun for all ages. The Coastal Centers goal is to get the community involved and interested in marine life and coastal ecosystems, offering hands on experiences that are exciting and educational. Inspiring the community to preserve the environment for the future. Popular among visitors are the touch tanks, where sea urchins, horseshoe crabs and stingrays can be seen, touched and even fed. The sea turtle pavilion allows visitors to experience the beauty of larger than life sea turtles up close and personal. The one of a kind, 750,000-gallon game fish lagoon is home to over 300 different animals. There are nature trails and indoor exhibits and aquariums. The employees and volunteers at the Coastal Center are passionate about what they do, they are bringing attention and care to the marine life.
The Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center is located in Martin County, on 57 acres of land between the Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean. It is home to over 4300 species of plants and animals. The Center opened in 1994, and has become a popular place to visit and volunteer for locals and tourist  the site provides excellent opportunities for education and research aimed at increasing visitors' knowledge of these unique environments. Along with the activities of the Coastal Center, you can enjoy the adventures of Nighttime Sea Turtle Walks, Oyster Bagging and a Seagrass Survey.
