Holidays at the Lighthouse

The Jupiter Lighthouse and Museum invites you to get into the holiday spirit at the Light.  They are offering a three day holiday event called “Holidays at the Light” spanning December 7-9, 2012.  Bring the family to the historic red Jupiter lighthouse, standing tall over the green trees and overlooking the scenic Jupiter Inlet and vast Atlantic Ocean. Residents and visitors alike should begin to get into the holiday spirit with the fun filled festivities and glistening nights. www.jupiterlighthouse.org

Friday, December 7th, between 5:30 – 9:30 pm, bring the children out to meet “Surfing Santa” for Family Night.  He is a tropical Santa, with time to chill and take pictures with the little ones. You will enjoy live performances by local holiday choirs and carolers, view the Festival of Trees, and even do some holiday shopping.  Food and drink vendors, as well as holiday treats will be available.  Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Jupiter Lighthouse Holidays at LightSaturday, December 8th, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, is Family Fun Day. Definitely plan on enjoying holiday craft activities, holiday music and shopping.  The food and drink vendors will be there to quench your thirst after you make your holiday climb to the top of the lighthouse!  Admission prices remain the same. Anyone with military identification will be admitted free, as well as anyone under the age of five.

Saturday evening is a focal point of the weekend with the Tropical Holiday Party. Tickets are $50 each and include dinner and dancing to the Caribbean sounds of calypso band “Reel Ting”.  JM Holiday Lighting has provided spectacular Holiday lighting at the museum and the lighthouse.  The proceeds of the glittering night will benefit the lighthouse.  The artificial trees and wreaths in the Festival of Lights have been donated and decorated by local businesses, organizations, and families.  A silent auction is to be held.

Concluding on Sunday, December 9th, visitors to the lighthouse will be able to cast their vote for their favorite tree.  This is sure to become a local Riverside Jupiter area favorite holiday event!
