Jack Nicklaus, who is known as one of the greatest golfers to ever play the game as well as an acclaimed golf course designer, is adding video game creator to his list of accolades.
The 18 time major winner and North Palm Beach resident has launched Jack Nicklaus Perfect Golf, which has been described as the "most realistic golf computer game the market has ever seen". Jack Nicklaus Perfect Golf will allow golfers and gaming enthusiast to design, and play on, their own custom golf courses, just like Nicklaus has been doing for the past five decades.
“We have developed a number of innovative technologies bringing together the virtual and real worlds into a seamless environment,” said Robert Samuels, the Chairman and CEO of Perfect Golf. “We are proud to team with the Nicklaus Companies once again and look forward to our shared mutual success.”
The game has been built to mimic real golf course features and designs, such as green speed measurements and the way the ball bounces and rolls throughout the course. The game also allows players to select different swing mechanics, select different time of day and weather options including real-time weather, and customize their player and clubs.
Perfect Golf, who has partnered with Nicklaus to make and distribute the game, is one of the top 3-D modeling and simulation companies in the world. Perfect Golf has been used regularly by the PGA Tour during their broadcasts to illustrate playing conditions, ball flights, and design elements of the courses the top golfers are competing on that week.
Jack Nicklaus Perfect Golf is currently available on Stream for Windows, OSX, and Linux. The game will be offered down the line on a variety of additional platforms, including consoles and Android TV. For more information, or to purchase the game, visit www.jacknicklausperfectgolf.com.
