Jack Nicklaus Part Of Team Redesigning Old President Country Club
Banyan Cay Resort and Golf Club, formerly President Country Club has secured North Palm Beach resident Jack Nicklaus to redevelop its golf course. Nicklaus will renovate the current 18-hole golf course, turning it into a Nicklaus signiature golf course.
The 245-acre Banyan Cay site, located east of Interstate 95, off Congress Avenue north of Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard, near the Palm Beach Outlets, is approved for 145 houses, a condo tower and a resort hotel in addition to the golf course and country club. Noble House Hotels & Resorts has been contracted to develop the hotel and country club. Noble House is a national boutique hotel operator with several Florida properties including the LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort in Naples.
When everything is completed, Banyan Cay will be the largest redevelopment in the city of West Palm Beach since Cityplace.
Banyan Cay resort will feature 150 suites and will be built about 20 feet above sea level in order to offer guests the best views of the golf course and pool. The resort also will feature a spa and fitness center, plus restaurants, meeting space and ballrooms. Rates will range from $299 a night off season to about $600 a night in-season. Club fees have not yet been set. People will only be allowed to play golf or visit the clubhouse if they are hotel guests or club members.
The plan is to thave the golf course and country club completed by October 2017 with the hotel ready by the fall of 2018.
