Whole Foods Market is hosting a lifestyle talk July 24, 2013 at 7:00 pm by Tara Harmon.  Join Harmon, coffee specialist from Whole Foods Market, in an engaging talk on how coffee, chocolate, and even java alternatives may benefit your health.

Tara Harmon has been in the health food industry for over 10 years and worked with coffee for over 14 years.  She is an energetic speaker with an incredible passion for food and how it has the power to heal our lives.  She will be discussing and sharing stories of various food origins and how they help your body.

Mayo Clinic’s recent studies have found no connection between coffee and an increased risk of cancer or heart disease.  Citing earlier studies, poor coffee has had a long history of being blamed for many illnesses.  Earlier studies did not always take into account “high risk behaviors, such as smoking and physical inactivity.”  Heavy smoking and very little physical activity, tended to be more common then.

Newer studies have shown that coffee has some benefits.  Studies on Parkinson, Type 2 Diabetes, and liver cancer indicate coffee may protect against these diseases.   It has a high level of antioxidants.  Do not disregard the old adage “everything in moderation”.  Heavy caffeine use can cause problems such as anxiety, restlessness, irritability and sleeplessness.

Join Tara Harmon at the Whole Foods Market, Lifestyle Center located at 11701 Lake Victoria Gardens, Palm Beach Gardens for a dynamic discussion on how they can help your body!
