Local Pros Partner with Palm Beach County Golf Association
Some of the biggest names in local golf will be among the sponsors of this year’s Palm Beach County Golf Association season of amateur events. 2013 will mark the 38th season of PBCGA Events that take place at some of the best golf courses and clubs in the county.
The season will kick off this weekend with the Spring Four-Ball event at the Fountains Country Club’s North Course in Lake Worth. There will be 25 events in total and the season will go through the middle of November. Some of the events featured will either be hosted or sponsored by local professional golfers.
Jupiter Island Resident Nick Price will host The “Pricey” Par Three Shootout on Friday April 12 at Jupiter Dunes. North Palm Beach Resident and World Golf Hall of Famer Jack Nicklaus and his wife Barbara will once again host the Nicklaus Junior event the weekend of July 20 and 21st and the Nicklaus designed Champion Course at PGA National. The Final event will be the Tour Championship and will be hosted by Medalist Club member Tiger Woods. The tournament will take place the second week in November and the dates and location have not been announced yet.
The PBCGA season will once again be highlighted by the Palm Beach Kennel Club County Amateur. It is a 54-hole stroke play event and will take place July 12-14 at Quail Ridge Country Club in Boynton Beach.
Several golf clubs in Northern Palm Beach County will host events this year including PGA National, Frenchman’s Reserve, McArthur Golf Club, The Loxahatchee Club, and Abacoa Golf Club.
