Some would say Memorial Day Weekend is the official start to Summer. If that is the case, then we better start getting our plans together. Whether you are relaxing on the beach, boating to one of Florida’s best destinations, or honoring the brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for this incredible country, be sure to make the most out of anything you do. Here are some ideas to make your weekend a great one.

Head to the Beach

What better way to spend your three-day weekend then by hitting the gorgeous beaches of Palm Beach County. From Jupiter all the way down to Boca Raton, the coastline here is absolutely stunning no matter where you choose to go. It is quite hot out these days, so cool off by swimming in the crystal blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. For some much-needed relaxation, grab an umbrella, chairs, towels, and your favorite beachy cocktail, and chill out amongst the beauty that is our Florida’s beaches.

Take to the Water

Luckily for all of us Floridians, we have ample opportunities to go boating. If you own a boat, have friends that do, or you have a rental lined up, take this weekend to spend some time out on the water. Here in Palm Beach County, we have various locations that you can drop anchor at and enjoy. Visit spots like Peanut Island, Lake Boca, or Cato’s Bridge for an awesome day of snorkeling, swimming, and partying (responsibly). It does not matter where you go, just being out on the boat is enough in itself.

Honor the Fallen

Most importantly, the true meaning of Memorial Day Weekend is to honor all the brave men and women who have lost their lives trying to make sure that we continue to live in the greatest country in the world. There will be plenty of activities and celebrations throughout Palm Beach County, so be sure to check out what your area is doing for the holiday. It will be a great way to reflect and pay homage to our fallen soldiers while simultaneously getting out of the house to join the community.

So, no matter what you choose to do this Memorial Day Weekend, make it count. With three-days to go out and have fun, you have the opportunity to do a little bit of everything. While you enjoy some time off, remember why we have it in the first place.
