Is it the calm swaying of the palms, the frozen drinks with the umbrellas, or perhaps the clear blue color of the water that helps improve your mood? A study conducted by the University of Exeter found that people who live less than a mile from the coast are happier. Coastal living and waterfront property-owning residents are 22 percent less likely to have symptoms of a mental health disorder compared to those who lived much farther away.

Researchers concluded that access to “blue spaces,” or areas by the ocean or water, like Juno Beach, plays a significant role in a person’s mental health. While many studies have shown that getting out into nature, even for just 20 minutes, can improve your mood. This finding could make a significant difference in helping a person’s emotional well-being.

One thing Palm Beach County does not lack is “blue spaces.” Perfectly situated on the banks of the Atlantic and Intracoastal, the Palm Beaches could very well be the destination you need to turn that frown upside down. Mix in a little bit of the world-renowned fine dining and entertainment and you may never leave. Time to begin searching for the mood-boosting home of your dreams!
