Music at the Mansion
Music at the Mansion is a live music event held at the Tuckahoe Mansion in Jensen Beach twice a year.
The concert is at the Tuckahoe Amphitheater, which is in the backyard of the public Tuckahoe Mansion overlooking the blue Indian River Lagoon. Aside from live music, there are food and drink vendors, activities for the kids, dancing, partying and an all-around good time.
The first Music at the Mansion will be held on Sunday, June 3rd featuring the Big Pine Band and the second event of the year will be on Sunday, December 2nd featuring the Sierra Band. The upcoming music festival this weekend will be held from 4-7 p.m. and the Big Pine Band is a local jam band performing southern rock.
About the Mansion:
The Tuckahoe Mansion is a historic luxury resident mansion that's been turned into a public venue. It was built on Mt. Elizabeth, a 4,000 year-old Indian mound created by the Ais Indians. The 60-foot high mound consists of broken pottery, tools, fish bones, shell crafts and other discarded items used by the Ais natives.
In 1936, Atlanta businessman Willaford Leach and his wife Anne Bates Leach, a Coca Cola heiress, bought Mt. Elizabeth and the property around it where they built the Mediterranean-style Mansion we see there today. When it was completed in 1939 they named the estate “Tuckahoe,” a Native American term for “Welcome." Sitting on 54 acres of waterfront woodlands and gorgeous rolling lawns, the mansion was the center of social life in Martin County and the venue for Gatsby-like parties attended by locals and WWII soldiers.
When the Leach family moved to Palm Beach in 1950, they sold the mansion and property to the Catholic Church. After that, the mansion was purchased by the Florida Institute of Technology (FIT). When FIT closed its doors in 1986, the mansion and surrounding property stayed vacant for more than 10 years. Finally, Martin County bought the property in 1997 where they build Indian Riverside Park, and the Tuckahoe Mansion is now used by the public and rented out for events and parties.

The mansion is truly beautiful and the amphitheater is the perfect setting for an outdoor concert. Head to Music at the Mansion with your family this weekend and overlook the Indian River Lagoon from Mt. Elizabeth while you listen to live music and enjoy this unique event.
