New Attractions at CityPlace
CityPlace is a destination in West Palm Beach famous for its shopping, dining, live music and more. The downtown area is always changing things up and adding new features to keep up with people's interests; that's why "CityPlace 2.0" as President and CEO Kenneth Himmel called it, is unveiling a get-it-while-you can setup focused around the recent pop-up shopping trend.
Here are 5 new things to check out at CityPlace:
1. The Shack
The Shack is a new 300-square foot stand-alone eatery in the main plaza right by the main stage. It has a cool vibe with modern touches like string lights with industrial bulbs, chalk board menus and painted palm trees and other art on the walls. You can grab food to go or sit outside at a table and listen to live music. The Shack is great because it has all kinds of foods all in one spot. Grab a light healthy lunch or go all out and choose the greasiest item on the menu and grab dessert.Â
2. The WPB Collective recognizes locals
The WPB Collective is a large empty space near the main stage and The Shack that will be used for local artists, photographers, vendors, etc. It'll be a collaborative retail space to set up pop-up stores where locals can sell merchandise. This is a great way to help Palm Beach County resident entrepreneurs.
3. Thursday Night Farmer's MarketÂ
The Thursday Night Farmer's Market is like the WPB Collective on steroids. There are a number of pop-up shops selling fresh cheese, local raw honey, s'mores, flowers, hats, dresses and much more. Some restaurants also give out free samples of their menu items. It's a great way to get the weekend started early and it happens every week from 5:30-9 p.m.
4. Kitten Yoga
Yep, it's a thing. See kittens jump and run around and you can cuddle with them during Yoga with Kittens from the new Peggy Adams PUP-UP Shop. Peggy's goal is more than making cat-lovers happy, she also wants the homeless kittens to find a human they connect with so that maybe they'll get adopted. Peggy provides for the kittens and other homeless pets which is why her class is a $10 donation. Each class holds 20 people and you have to RSVP. If you're interested email kittenyoga@peggyadams.org.
5. Culture Lab
The former Macy's storefront is now literally a culture lab, exhibiting a hub of all things art inside and out. Currently on the exterior you can see colorful paintings by Micheal Craig Martin, one of the most prominent artists of today's pop-art culture. Inside you'll see a collection of objects that appeal to all senses, like the immersive sound-art installation called "You are the Magic" by Stephen Vitiello.Â
Stop by these all-new CityPlace installations next time you're ready to go have some fun.
