New restaurant plans would be the latest in the area, with public boat slips, on the waterway near the Jupiter Inlet.

Demolishing, not renovating, is the latest plan for the now-vacant Brix Italian Fishery off U.S. 1, south of Jupiter Island, according to plans submitted to the Town Council of Jupiter.

The Town Council of Jupiter, last fall gave unanimous approval, for the owners to remodel the building. The plan includes outdoor seating and a public dock with nine boat slips on the Loxahatchee River, according to the plan submitted by Bjarne Borg, co-founder of the Stockholm-based Index Investment Co. that owns the property.

The original plan called for 350 seats and a 23-seat outdoor cabana bar with valet parking. This would also be North American headquarters of Borg’s company on the building’s second floor.

The latest plan calls for a slightly smaller structure, according to Jupiter records.  The original PUD was approved in 1979 as a “mixed use PUD including marina and restaurant”.  Chuck Muir opened Charlie’s Crab in 1988, which turned over to Busch’s Seafood in 2004, then later to Brix Italian Fishery.  A private recorded shared parking agreement remains in place.

Looking forward to a new restaurant in this fantastic location!
