The sunshine state has always been known for its soft sandy beaches, crystal clear, warm ocean water and tropical, laid back lifestyle. It has also been synonymous with lavish vacations that will break the bank. BUT this year, Florida has been included in Oyster’s list of the “11 Most Budget Friendly Beach Destinations in the U.S.”
Pensacola has taken the top spot on this budget friendly list. Some of the other destinations included Puerto Rico, Cannon Beach, Oregon, Virginia Beach, Cape May, New Jersey, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Palm Beach County’s own Delray Beach came in at ninth on the list of “most budget friendly beach destinations in the U.S.”
Its no wonder Delray Beach makes a name for itself on top vacation destination lists. Delray Beach has been dubbed as a “Sociable City and was recently awarded ‘Best of the Road - Most Fun Small Town in America’ by Rand McNally & USA Today.” The city is known as the “village by the sea” for its quaint seaside charm, breathtaking beaches and while offering lively bars and lounges by nightfall.
Oyster said about Delray Beach it is “an inexpensive alternative to Boca Raton” and was praised for “The Avenue.” Wright By The Sea was the recommended hotel by the website that also mentioned the “value-friendly hotels, restaurants, and lively bars” in the area. Pensacola took the top spot for its great springtime temperatures, numerous flights coming into the local airport, and “the white-sand beaches (lined) with affordable hotels and restaurants.”
