Palm Beach County Beach Essentials for Summer 2024
The schools have let out, the weather is getting warmer, and that indescribable feeling is back in the air. Summer is here in Palm Beach County, and what is better than hitting the beach as much as you can? If you are like me and cannot wait to get out there, here are some beach essentials everyone should be looking to bring with them this summer. 
Sun Protection
Yes, I know this is not the flashiest or most fun thing to talk about, but it is a necessity, especially here in Florida. With hot days ahead, it is crucial that everyone wears their sunblock so we can continue to go back to the beach all summer long. No one likes getting burnt, and nobody especially likes getting sun poisoning, so be sure to pack as much as possible, even if you are just going for a short period of time.
Food and Drinks
For those long afternoons on the beach, pack a cooler full of your favorite food and drinks. Maybe it is your favorite premade cocktail, a nice cold beer, or simply just some refreshing H2O to keep you hydrated. For food, what is more classic than a Publix sandwich on the beaches of Florida? They belong together, but as a heads up I would order ahead of time as others will probably have the same idea. Lastly, a reminder to always bring trash bags along with you just in case your beach does not have cans. No one likes a dirty beach.
Seating and Shade
Load up the car with a couple of chairs, towels, and an umbrella to be as comfortable as possible. Create a little beach compound with your supplies to feel like you have your own VIP section wherever you decide to settle down. There is nothing worse than not having these items, especially if you are going to be there for a while.
Water Toys, Games, and Entertainment
If you are someone who cannot sit still at the beach or you just need something to keep your mind busy, then you should bring along some water toys, games, and entertainment. Whether it is snorkeling gear, a surfboard, beach games that get you moving, or a deck of cards, you cannot go wrong with any of it. My personal favorite beachy things to do include spike ball, bocce, and a nice floaty for the water, but like I said, you really cannot go wrong with whatever you decide to bring. Just make sure to have some fun with whatever you do.
Big Bag Necessities
Like your mom always used to have, be ready with everything you need and pack a large bag full of essentials that sometimes get overlooked while rushing out the door. This will consist of extra sunscreen, bug spray, band-aids, medicine, and beach/waterproof cases for your devices. Things that seem so minuscule yet are so important for a successful beach day.
By bringing along these essentials, you can have the best summer possible at the beach. Here in Palm Beach County, with our beautiful coastline, this summer is the perfect opportunity to get out of the house and enjoy it.
