Spring Training is just one of the many things that make South Florida a great place to be. Roger Dean Stadium is located in Abacoa and is the spring training home of the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals. In addition to the spring training games, the facility also houses the Marlins and Cardinals Single A minor league affiliates. Between the four teams, Roger Dean Stadium offers baseball on almost a nightly basis for seven months out of the year.

With the affordable prices and access to players that most fans can’t get during the regular season, families and fans from all over the country come to Jupiter to see their favorite teams play and enjoy all that South Florida has to offer.

The success of Roger Dean Stadium, as well as the commitment to keeping South Florida as one of the top spring training areas, has resulted in Palm Beach Gardens looking into adding a facility of their own.

The stadium, which would be off of Central Boulevard on the north side of 117th Court North, would be built on an 82-acre piece of county owned land just west of I-95. If approved, the facility would house the Toronto Blue Jays and Houston Astros for spring training and most likely their minor league affiliates during the months of April-September, just like Roger Dean Stadium.

Currently, the six week spring training season generates about $50 million annually and it is believed that a stadium in Palm Beach Gardens would keep teams from moving to either a different part of the state or out to Arizona.
