Located within beautiful Palm Beach County is the picturesque city of Palm Beach Gardens. Palm Beach Gardens prior to development was forest, cattle ranches and outlying was swamplands. In 1959, land developer John D. MacArthur announced plans to build a community and would build homes for 55,000. He planned on naming the soon to be built city Palm Beach City. The Florida State Legislature rejected the name and he renamed the proposed city Palm Beach Garden.
MacArthur’s “garden city” grew quickly in the 1960’s. The city had a population of 7,000 residents by the early 1970’s. Palm Beach Gardens became the home of the Professional Golfers Association and today there are numerous golf courses and many beautiful communities and neighborhoods within the city limits.
One of the larger communities is Mirasol. Mirasol is an expansive, private gated community off PGA Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Mirasol offers Old Florida living with peaceful views and great amenities. There are two golf courses within the community, The “Sunrise” and ”Sunset” courses offer 36 holes designed by Arthur Hills and Tom Fazio. The clubhouse distances 50,000 square feet and features informal and formal dining, tennis courts and much more. Mirasol is ideally located near the Mirasol shopping center featuring Publix, Starbucks, shops and restaurants. Mirasol is within minutes from the Gardens Mall, Downtown and Midtown of Palm Beach Gardens as well as just minutes from the gorgeous white sand beaches of Palm Beach County.
