REEL TIME FISHING REPORT

12.5.14 Fishing Report
This past week in South Florida has been pretty blown out due to the windy weather conditions and most boats have been tied at the dock. December 5, 2014: East Winds 15-20 knots. Seas 4-6 feet with occasional seas to 8 feet. Intracoastal waters are choppy in exposed areas. The weather conditions this weekend look a bit more encouraging this Saturday and Sunday, just in time for the Holiday Boat Parade!
OFFSHORE-
The Dolphin bite is still strong and has been swimming around in good numbers from the depths of 200’- 400’. There are occasional sailfish, wahoo, kingfish and blackfin tuna out of Palm Beach and Jupiter Inlets. Along the edge, keep an out for frigate birds as they may be on dolphin and expect bottom fishing to be on fire when the conditions calm down, fish a deep line for snappers and cobias below the surface.
INSHORE/ SURF/PIER-
Take advantage of the snook season as there are a only few chances left to hook some up. Search for the linesiders around the bridges at night or following schools of mullet. There will be some red fish in the mix and tight against the docks. Sea trouts have been in ample amounts around the grassy flat areas; a goofy jig is a great choice for hooking up a lot of different species on the flats.
Along the Juno Beach Pier, there have been great mornings hooking up bluefish, jacks and Spanish mackerel and the occasional Pompano. A gotcha lure or a small diamond jig is recommended for the windy mornings on the pier.
