RIVER RHAPSODY: NIGHT ON THE LOXAHATCHEE

On Saturday, March 28th, the Loxahatchee River will go back into time passing through the River Center in Jupiter, Florida. An annual event, “River Rhapsody” will be fundamentally aiding the outstanding environmental education that it offers to all ages throughout the year.

“River Rhapsody” hosted by Chief Meteorologist on the Storm Team 5, Steve Weagle, creates this educational event inside a turn of the century river boat. Going back to the 1860’s, the Jupiter inlet Lighthouse flashed its beacon out across the seas for the very first flash. The light signaled the new era of safe navigation through communication of technology turning Jupiter, Florida into a community that could live off of its bountiful assets that are along the Loxahatchee River and including the Atlantic coast. Benefitting the River Center, the awaited event, Night on the Loxahatchee is suitably showcasing a period of time when growth was becoming during in the 19th century.

The theme is hypothetically to be resembled the days of early families in Jupiter accompanied by musical performers of jazz and island music, as well as special renderings by Jupiter High School’s Chorus. While “on board” at the River Rhapsody, guest can enjoy Caribbean selections of hors d’oeuvres by The Food Shack and wines from African Tradition Wines and gourmet coffee by Oceana Coffee. 

The Night on the Loxahatchee event, “River Rhapsody” will be memorable by encouraging the local community to show support for the communities greatest treasures and benefit the River Center- as one of the key environmental educational centers nearby.
