The charming, seaside town of Jupiter, Florida is chock-full of things to do for fun. It has some of the best golf in the world, the best fishing in the world and an unlimited amount of great restaurants, shops and things to do. BUT if you are a local or you spend a lot of your time in Jupiter, sometimes you want something new to try.

Here are 4 epic places to take a day trip to that will transport you into a whole new world without boarding a plane!

The Kennedy Space Center
Cape Canaveral, Florida

One of the most intriguing places you can visit in Florida is the famous Kennedy Space Center! Just 45 minutes away from Orlando, you and your friends and family can be standing below space shuttles within a few hour car ride. This space center is the only places in the world where you can tour actual launch sites. The Kennedy Space Center surprisingly enough is NASA’s launching headquarters and from here you can meet astronauts, train for a space flight with simulators, witness a launch and climb aboard rockets. Millions of visitors travel from across the globe to experience the Kennedy Space Center, and for us local Jupiter folks we can be there and home within the day!

The Dolphin Research Center
Grassy Key, Florida

Located on Grassy Key, Florida just south of Miami is the Dolphin Research Center. This center is an amazing educational and rehabilitation center for Atlantic bottlenose dolphins and California sea lions. Guests can tour the center and get up close and personal with the family of beautiful animals living at the Dolphin Research Center facilities. You can even experience what it is like to be a trainer for a day. Perfect for those who are pursuing a career in animal care or training, or you just want to understand what life is like with a dolphin, this experience will not disappoint.

Solomon’s Castle
Ona, Florida

Yes, there is a real castling in hidden amongst the wetlands of Florida and it is called Solomon’s Castle. Unique, to say the least, this castle was a dream turned into a reality when famous artist, Howard Solomon, created it to be a home for his galleries and workshops. The castle looks like something out of a children’s book with over 80 windows made of stained glass, medieval sculptures, stone masonry and even a moat. Solomon’s castle is one place you and your family will never forget and it’s only a couple hour’s drive from Jupiter on your way to Sarasota. Enjoy a lunch overlooking the creeks or on the boat that floats in the moat! Acclaimed by Animal Planet, CNN, The Wall Street Journal and many more publications, Solomon’s Castle is like a trip through time without all the travel.

Butterfly World
Coconut Creek, Florida

Open since the Spring of ’88, Butterfly World has astounded the masses with its thousands of stunning butterflies, flowers and wildlife. Less than an hour and a half by car from Jupiter, Butterfly World brings guests animals from 5 continents right into southern Florida. A truly invigorating experience for the senses, you will smell the scents of tropical flowers, be kissed by butterflies and tantalized by the colors of it all! Visiting Butterfly World is like going to a jungle filled with massive butterflies, waterfalls, secret gardens and the most exotic plants and animals you have ever seen. This is the perfect day trip destination for Jupiter locals, as you will feel like your deep in the tropical amazon when you're really just in Coconut Creek.
