According to a report from Golf Digest, two of the top local golfers facing off in a prime time, made for tv event in June.

Palm Beach Gardens resident Rory Mcllroy and Loxahatchee River resident Rickie Fowler will face off under the lights on Tuesday, June 7th at Detroit Golf Club. The match will begin at 7:00pm, and despite the sun staying out later in the summer, most of the back nine will be played under the lights. The Golf Channel will air the first two hours of covereage with CBS airing the final two hours.

Rory (ranked 3rd in the world) and Fowler (ranked 4th in the world) will be joined by celebrities in the match, but the format has not been decided yet.

The event will take place two days after the Memorial at Muirfield Village in Ohio and just a week before the U.S. Open at Oakmont. It will be the first time a primetime exhibition will be held in the United States since the final episode of the Tiger Woods let Monday Night Golf events aired in 2005.
