On Monday, children of all ages strapped on their helmets, grabbed their skateboards, and headed to the newly renovated Palm Beach Gardens skate park for the first day of the week long skate camp.

The skate park on Plant Drive, just behind Palm Beach Gardens High School, reopened in June after a $162,000 renovation. The renovation included replacing worn wooden ramps with new concrete pyramids and a “fun box” was added for skateboarders to ride on. In addition to the renovations made inside the park, new sidewalks, fences, and landscaping were added surrounding the park.

The skate park is open Monday through Saturday from 9am until 12pm and 4pm to 9pm and on Sundays from 4pm to 9pm all summer. Bikers are allowed to use the park on Wednesdays and Sundays from 4pm to 9pm and on August 9th the park will have its official grand reopening from 7pm to 9pm featuring music, skate contests, prizes, and giveaways.

For more information on the Palm Beach Gardens skate park contact the park at (561) 630-1100.
