Smart home devices are a booming industry and becoming much more of a demand in luxury homes. Recently, these devices have allowed homeowners to monitor their home and control its features remotely. This kind of technology has always piqued the interest of high-end buyers, largely for security, convenience, and energy management.

Typically, smart home hub systems are available to manage different functions through one interface on a smartphone or tablet when you're away. There are also devices like Alexa, which complete tasks while users are at home, like playing music and podcasts or news. However, new tech is coming out this year to make all different forms of automation technology work together as one.

Take the iDevice Instinct, for example. When you replace a standard light switch with the Instinct, homeowners gain the functionality of a smart light switch, standalone voice assistant, ambient light sensor and motion detector – all in one product. With the capabilities of a device like Alexa actually built into a light switch, tools like the Instinct transform the way people interact with connected accessories in their home. Rather than a device sitting on a table, the house itself could seem to respond to commands as long as the homeowner is within voice range of a modified light switch.

The iDevices Instinct will be available later this year. It is a breakthrough in the smart home industry, and the link to pull all previously installed devices together. Experts suggest the global home automation market will be worth over $121.73 billion by 2020. There are plenty of reasons to have a smart home- safety, efficiency, entertainment... invest in a home with these capabilities to better your life now and in the long run.
