Come celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with the Latin Music Festival on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. at the Miramar Amphitheater. It is located in Miramar Regional Park, 16801 Miramar Parkway, Miramar (about an hour south of the Town of Jupiter). Appreciate pulsating performances, lectures, and family activities that celebrate our nation's rich and diverse cultural heritage and history.

Each year, Americans, as well as South Florida residents observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean.

The observation started in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson and was expanded by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 to cover a 30-day period starting on September 15 and ending on October 15. The day of September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico celebrates their independence days on September 16 and Chile celebrates their independence on September18. Additionally, Día de la Raza (Columbus Day) is acknowledged on October 12, within this 30-day period honoring Hispanic heritage.

Hispanic or not, come out and enjoy a little spicy night of revelry and Latin dance music. Learn about the overcome hurdles faced by people of Hispanic heritage. Guaranteed an enjoyable evening to dance the night away under the stars. Whether you’re into Latin pop or salsa, mariachi, merengue and beyond, this event will put a little bit of rhythm in your step.

Food trucks, vendors, family fun activities and lectures will be featured at the Latin Music Festival. Enjoy live musical performances from Rey Ruiz, Lissette Morales & Reinier Bonacheas Orchestra, and Tito Swing and D.J. Fito.
