The weather cools down, the skies turn from shades of blue to pink and orange and the water glistens in the amber light. Experience this beautiful time of day from the top of the iconic Jupiter Lighthouse with a sunset tour. Take in the breathtaking sunset and watch Jupiter light up as the day turns to night.Â
The Jupiter Lighthouse has been a standing landmark since 1860. The waterfront museum sits in front of the lighthouse overlooking the Intracoastal and is made up of a few buildings that showcase the stories of old Florida. These stories help you relive history and focus on over 5,000 years of human habitation in and around the Jupiter Inlet and the Loxahatchee River. Your tour will begin in the recently built Museum Gifts and Sweet Shop. You will walk along a brick-lined path to the several exhibits including a restored WWII Navy Building, an 1892 Tindall Pioneer Homestead Exhibit and a 100 year old Pennock Plantation Bell. Then you will get to climb the 105 steps leading to the top of the 108-foot tall lighthouse. Â
Sunset Tours last approximately 75 minutes and cost $15 for members, $20 non-members and an RSVP is kindly required. For more information please call 561-747-8380 extension 101.Â
