Taco Tuesday has been a nationwide obsession.  Many people head out to the local taqueria for tacos and margaritas.  If you prefer to stay in your Southeast Florida home and create your own Taco Tuesday Southeast Florida tradition, try this simple Shrimp Taco recipe.

Smoky, grilled shrimp and spicy slaw create next-level tacos that will knock your socks off. Perfect with some street corn and a spicy margarita.  

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 3 tbsp freshly chopped cilantro
  • Juice of 3 limes, divided
  • kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 lb. large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cups shredded red cabbage
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp sriracha
  • 4 medium corn tortillas

Directions:

  • In a small bowl, mix olive oil, cilantro, and 1/3 of the lime juice. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Add shrimp to a baking dish and pour over the mixture. Toss until completely coated and let marinate 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, make the slaw: In a large bowl, toss cabbage with mayo, remaining lime juice, and Sriracha. Season with salt.
  • Heat grill to high. Skewer shrimp and grill until charred, 3 minutes per side.
  • Grill tortillas until charred, 1 minute per side.
  • Serve shrimp in tortillas with slaw.
