The Wellington Art Society presents the “Fall for Art” Pop Up Gallery on September 16–18, 2022. The Wellington Art Society will present its free, annual “Fall for Art” Pop-Up Gallery event. Armory Art Center is established in a magnificent 1939 Art Deco building, just south of downtown West Palm Beach. It offers a rich local history. It was once the site of a municipal market at the turn of the 20th century. The building served as a National Guard Armory and popular community event space before opening as an art school in 1987. Today, the nonprofit art center features three buildings of artist studios humming with activity, with locals taking part in classes and open workshops.

The Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens is the former home of sculptor Ann Weaver Norton. Ann was the widow of Ralph Hubbard Norton. The two-acre estate showcases a collection of 250 species of tropical palms adjacent to the Intracoastal Waterway and next to downtown West Palm Beach. The residence is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. 

World-renowned botanist Sir Peter Smithers designed the Gardens as a unique and valuable tropical palm garden. The world premiere of Art of the Hollywood Backdrop features original, full-sized matte painting backdrops used in Hollywood's Golden Age in films like "The Sound of Music,” “Singing in the Rain,” and "North by Northwest," and "Ben-Hur." This exhibition of scenic backdrops, made for the movies between 1938 and 1968, is a celebration of a popular art form that had almost been forgotten; and it is now time to acknowledge the authorship of the painting of Mount Rushmore, Ben-Hur’s Rome, the Von Trapp Family’s Austrian Alps, and Gene Kelly’s Paris street scene.  The Robert Fontaine Gallery moved onto Worth Avenue in Palm Beach last month after being in the Miami area for 11 years. The Town of Palm Beach persists in attracting a growing flock of major art collectors. Changes in the art world, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, have influenced this migration.

The gallery owner, Robert Fontaine, said the decision to move to 256 Worth Avenue, Palm Beach was somewhat based on the inability to find a space in Miami at a reasonable price.  Fontaine's gallery was in Miami's Wynwood art district for 6 years before moving to Miami Beach in 2017.  Because of the gentrification, it has been difficult for art galleries to find space without being priced out.

The Lighthouse ArtCenter Gallery, 373 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta,  is hosting the 8th Annual Plein Air Festival Sunday, March 14 through Saturday, March 20, 2021.  This art festival is known to be one of the premier Plein Air Festivals in the United States. The festival has been overhauled to meet social distancing protocols for the current times. 

Twenty-four national award-winning artists have been invited to exhibit their fresh works in the Lighthouse ArtCenter Gallery and online during this highly anticipated festival of “representational art that captures our environment as history in the making.”

The quaint seaside Town of Hobe Sound is celebrating the 20th Anniversary Hobe Sound Festival of the Arts.  The festival returns with the some of the nation's top artists and skilled craft artisans. This 2-day event is a socially distanced outdoor art show and craft marketplace.  The festival is a community event taking place on Dixie Highway from Bridge Road to Venus Street.

For the past 20 years thousands of local residents and visitors have been invited to stroll amidst life-size sculptures, spectacular paintings, one-of-a-kind jewels, photography, ceramics and more.  Artists are present on site to chat and discuss their inspirations as well as the processes for each unique piece.
