 Ocean Safety Awareness Classes are scheduled upon request by the City of Delray Beach. Classes are at your location, or the Ocean Rescue Headquarters located at Anchor Park, 340 South Ocean Boulevard, Delray Beach. The class covers ocean safety information about rip currents, man-o-war jellyfish, lightning, severe weather, marine life, and other beach-related topics.

The month of April has been designated as “Earth Month.” To commemorate Mother Earth, it is a terrific opportunity to share some facts about our beautiful planet.

Sandoway Discovery Center is in a historic 1936 beachfront home in Delray Beach. The original structure is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is now preserved as a unique Nature Center now and is home to native plants, live animals, and a world-class shell collection. The Mandel Public Library in West Palm Beach is going to make sure students are set up for success.  The library is offering free tutoring sessions to kids in grades K-12 for math, science, reading, and more.

The Palm Beach County public school system was awarded an “A” once again from the Florida Department of Education. The grade comes from considerations including students’ high-test scores on state exams as well as the county’s high rate of graduation
