It is a holiday miracle! There is snow in Palm Beach County! Your friends and family are all in town for the holidays and you’re searching for something fun to do instead of watching TV. The Square in West Palm Beach hosts, a holiday attraction through December 31 that includes snowfalls and a lights display. Light shows and snowfalls are 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. nightly, with extra entertainment and occasional events.

The Square is a shopping, dining, and residential neighborhood at 700 South Rosemary Avenue, West Palm Beach. Pair the festivities with dinner and reserve the best seats in the house at The Square restaurants in advance.

On the morning of Jan. 19, 1977, snow fell in Palm Beach County.  I remember this day clearly as if it were yesterday!  I was in sixth grade at a small private school in West Palm Beach. It was 6:15 am and we left the house to get into my mother’s car for the long ride from the north end of the county south end to school.  On this exceptionally cold morning we blew “smoke” from our mouths with delight. That kind of cold rarely happened here in South Florida.  Then the most unexpected thing occurred…flurries…flurries of snow!!! Forty years ago today it snowed in Palm Beach County! It was AMAZING!!!
