Tequesta Golfer Earns Web.com Tour Card

Hugo Leon might have missed the cut at the PGA Tour Canada’s final event of the season but it proved not to matter when it came to achieving his ultimate goal.

That’s because, despite being sent home early from the TOUR Championship of Canada, the Tequesta resident finished the season fourth on the money list and will receive his Web.com Tour card for the 2014 season. The top five on the money list at the end of the Canadian season all earn Web.com Tour cards for next year.

Leon won The Great Waterway Classic earlier in the season and had three more top-15 finished during the year to earn his card for next year. His top five finish on the money list completes the comeback that he has made since he suffered a season ending hip injury since 2011.

Leon will now be eligible for the first event of the Web.com tour season when it gets underway in February of next year.
