Only two days away, Thanksgiving Day will be in South Florida and it is filled with lots of events other than just stuffing your face with turkey and all the fixings. If you rather pass on watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, a few other events are happening on Thanksgiving Day in your community.

There are places serving and delivering meals to the less fortunate on Thanksgiving Day. In Palm Beach County, you can volunteer for The Big Heart Brigade, who is working hard with a goal of 100,000 meals to give to those that are less fortunate. In Broward County, there are shifts available to aid and serve meals at the Homeless Voice Homeless Shelter in Hollywood, Florida. Also, there are many food drives available to support the hunger-relief in your community by making donations to a local food bank.

Some people may want to get a great exercise in before the big meal by walking in a Turkey Trot such as Town of Palm Beach United Way Turkey Trot and Fort Lauderdale Turkey Trot & Turkey Paddle.

However you choose to spend your day we wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!
