Across the world, anglers come together and enjoy a little competition and fishing is no exception. Fishing tournaments in South Florida have brought out the very best in people and a great way to raise money for charity events. Anglers come together from all over the State of Florida to benefit from some very worthwhile causes.

Now it is time for the 2015 Lighthouse Ladies KDW Fishing Tournament which starts on June 6th, 2015. This tournament is presented by Mercedes Benz of Palm Beach and is proud to support the Lighthouse for the Blind of the Palm Beaches. This organization has support of many sponsors and an all-around great effort from the volunteers. A whopping 100% of net proceeds from the fishing tournament will benefit the charity.  “Our mission is to raise awareness and generate revenue to help with the many amazing projects that the Lighthouse for the Blind offer.  The lighthouse serves persons of all ages with significant visual impairment that effects daily functioning. The Lighthouse for the Blind is a private, nonprofit organization providing rehabilitation, community education and support services for individuals age five or older who are legally blind or significantly visually impaired."

The Lighthouse Ladies Fishing Tournament held in Jupiter, Florida follows a KDW format (Kingfish, Dolphin/Mahi, Wahoo). Addition to the format, a popular ¡Que Bonito! Category is for the largest bonito. There is a 25 mile range restriction all boaters need to abide by. Any fish obtained in the Bahamian waters are automatically disqualified but the convenient part is anglers may depart from their most suitable inlet within the geographical area.
