Mark your calendar! The 2nd Hang 20 Surf Dog Classic is set for August 27, 2016 at Carlin Park in Jupiter. Furry Friends, a no-kill shelter and clinic in Jupiter, will be hosting this family event that features live music, kids’ activities, food, vendors and dogs catching waves. The surfing begins at 8:30 a.m., with four heats; small, medium and large dogs, and a stand-up surfboard heat. You can register your pooch online at FurryFriendsAdoption.org. Space is limited.

 

The schedule for Hang 20 Surf Dog Classic is as follows:
¦ Beach registration: 7:45-8:30 a.m.
¦ Small dog surf heats: 8:30-9 a.m.
¦ Medium dog surf heats: 9-9:30 a.m.
¦ Large dog surf heats: 9:30-10 a.m.
¦ SUP dog surf heats: 10-10:30 a.m.
¦ Awards ceremony: 10:30-10:45 a.m.
¦ Introduction of adoptable furry friends: 10:45-11 a.m.
¦ Dog performance show: 11-11:30 a.m.
¦ Live music and shopping: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
¦ Dog performance show II: 1-1:30 p.m.
¦ Live music and shopping: 1:30-3 p.m.
¦ Dog performance show III: 3-3:30 p.m.

 

A pre-party is scheduled at Guanabanas Waterfront Restaurant in Jupiter on August 18, 2016 from 5pm to 7pm. The event will have an exclusively created Mako Vodka drink to honor and support the shelter in saving the lives of our community’s homeless cats and dogs. Hang 20 collectible items will be on sale, as well as special raffle items. All proceeds go to operations at the shelter and it is a great opportunity to show your community support.
